How to transform the ordinary into the extraordinary
Department Stores are facing even tougher trading conditions than ever before, battling against squeezed margins and keen competition. We exist in a highly competitive era, where shoppers have a huge variety of where to buy, and so the department store of the 21st century needs to offer wide ranges of product, maintain good value and quality service along with an aesthetically pleasing and entertaining environment.

People have been talking about the Metrosexual revolution for years now, but it seems that its translation into retail that actually works has been a long time coming. G.Room and Space NK Men are the only two dedicated men's health and beauty concepts to make a stir in London, and G.Room has since closed its doors. Now however we have another contender to try its hand at this elusive target customer.

This Green and Pleasant Land
Julian Hoad, Senior Designer, takes a look at the developing market of the eco-brand. "As consumers we now expect far more accessible knowledge about a brand than we used to. I guess you can put fairtrade coffee into a restaurant and have a clear conscience. But does that really go far enough to ally a consumers concern that they and you are doing enough?"

Hoopers Wilmslow
In summer 2006, JSA was engaged by Hoopers Wilmslow to undertake a major revamp of the childrenswear department and also asked to tackle the cookshop department.

Client care and development
How often do any of us take the time and trouble to thank or praise someone, an organisation or a store for doing a great job? Would we even know who to thank or would we even take the time to find out anyway?
